Judd Ranch is the
American Gelbvieh Assn.
#1 Breeder and #1 Owner
of Dams of Merit
and Dams of Distinction... for Twelve Consecutive Years.
Emphasis on Reproductive & Growth Traits Leads to Bankable Cattle – and Awards

For the twelfth consecutive year, Judd Ranch is the American Gelbvieh Association’s No. 1 Breeder and No. 1 Owner of Dams of Merit and Dams of Distinction. No other Gelbvieh breeder has achieved this status in the history of the AGA.

The AGA’s Dam of Distinction and Dam of Merit program recognizes cows that calve by the age of 2, rebreed quickly and consistently produce a calf year after year. Only 4% of the breed’s active cows qualified as Dams of Merit, and less than 1% earned the Dams of Distinction award.

This past year 102 females bred by Judd Ranch were designated Dams of Merit or Dams of Distinction. Many of these are the same females that produce bulls and females that sell in the ranch’s annual March bull sale and annual October female sale.

Additional good news for fellow producers is that Judd Ranch doesn’t keep all of its great females, as it believes in sharing its superior, honored genetics with other producers. In Judd Ranch’s 18th Annual COW POWER Female Sale in October '08, 93% of the females selling were Dams of Merit or daughters of Dams of Merit or had a Dam of Merit or Dam of Distinction female in their seven-generation pedigree.
